Bunch of challenges/ideas...

I was surfing the internet earlier this evening and came across several different challenges/ideas for photo themes.  Even though the year is almost over, but it is is NEVER too late to start it! I have gotten totally off track due to the major projects at the old house, having the house on the market, buying new house and move into the new house.  On top of all that, the kids were in back to back sports.  Now that most of the major parts are done for good. We are fully settled in the house with just a few minor projects that will begin in the spring time.   Things are winding down very quickly in preparation for the fall and winter.    Now there's several different challenges/ideas for photo themes that I think that you may find interesting. I will get some notes posted about it and where the links are.  Here's some ideas....
* 52 weeks - doing one self portrait of yourself for a year
*365 photos - a photo every day (I did very horrible on this one)
*52 Photowalk - Getting out of the house and go on a walk in different places and taking random pictures
*A to Z photos -  Taking pictures that represent certain letters such as G for Grass and Q for quiet or quick
* Color Geared Theme - Yellow for sun (you get the idea)
*Scavenger Hunt
*365 Photos with specific theme - there's 365 theme plus 52 wild card (you can use the wild card theme to mix up if you don't want to do some of the specific theme that is on the list)

I will get the links posted for each of ideas where I found them sometime this week.  I have seen a few ideas that I would like to attempt starting next week, once I get the new laptop set up with new editing program to make it more easier to edit photos.

I have gotten an email from Photo Sunday with their new theme for this week.  Check it out at PhotoSunday.   I am hoping to get back in the swing of taking random pictures.

Laptop update

Well, I have some good and bad news regarding the laptop. The good new is that the hard drive is intact so we are able to recover the photos and the documents.  The bad new is that the laptop, at this point, doesn't look like it's repairable.   However, the new laptop will be here this weekend.  It definitely has taught me a lesson - back it up to the portable hard-drive, burn a copy to CD and back it up on our google storage.  Looks like I have a long process to do that, given that there's about 12 years worth of photos on the hard drive.  

Laptop crashed.... photos lost. :(

Our laptop has crashed almost 2 weeks ago. At this point, I lost the last 4 1/2 months worth of pictures, including roughly 2,000 sport photos. :(   Right now, it is in the shop and hopefully the photos can be recovered.  I had planned to back it up on that Monday, but it had crashed the day before.  Let's say I was pretty upset/sick to my stomach over this.  I am still holding out hopes that the hard drive can be recovered..  So I have no photos to show for the last 4 1/2 months, however, my camera card had some of the football photos and soccer photos.  I will get them uploaded eventually - however, my photo editing programs were on the laptop.  I'm posting from the tiny netbook, LOL.

Been too busy!!

I have been so busy this summer in between of the sale of our old home, purchasing our new home, packing, moving and unpacking.  Getting the kids registered for new school and they're also playing football, actually two of our boys.  In about a week or two, we'll be tackling soccer for all 3 boys. So you can say it has been somewhat crazy summer.  We love it at our new house! I've not had much time to get around and get some pictures. However, I do have a lot of football pictures. LOL!  It's going to be crazy until mid-October between football and soccer practices/games.

First Baseball of the Season - C

Our oldest, C had his first baseball game of the season! By the time we were done with the game, let's say it wasn't exactly a good evening for him. :( They lost 8-1, but the point is that they did their best! That is what counts!!

I was outside cleaning up the yard and I noticed the cloud had a funky shape to it. It was just rolling.. So I went in and grabbed the camera and took those two.

May 2011 Photo Hunt Challenges

I missed the sign up for the May 2011 Photo Hunt Challenge, but that's okay! It was REALLY interesting to do this. This was my first time doing the photo hunt challenge. Let's say it makes you think outside of the box for most of the part! However, I didn't complete the entire list as I forgot to set my reminder for it. However, I still have today and tomorrow to finish the remaining list.

Photos - slacking off a bit. :(

I've been slacking on and off about taking photos everyday - but there are pictures here and there. I will just post what I can.  Now that we are done with our house major make-over and it is on the market, that I should be able to kick back a bit and get back into my photography and scrapbooking.    Things are picking up around here with activities (especially sports!).  I can't promise that I will get all the photos up right away, but I will EVENTUALLY get them posted. :) Now that I'm signing up for a few photo challenges. Let's see if that will kick me in gear and be more diligent about posting them!   If you'd like to be added into the blogroll - please leave a comment and I'll get you added. I'd appreciate any positive and negative feedbacks. I'm looking to work on my skills ( I'm FAR from being good at this, but I do the best with what I have! :) )

Sheesh, April is here already and I haven't posted anything since Feb? Don't fear. I have been taking pictures here and there, but just not everyday like I should be.   The house projects is finally dying down. We have one big project left, but we probably won't tackle that until this weekend, I believe. Today I am kinda recovering from our crazy week - we completed 2 full size room in less than 8 days, that involved moving stuff out of the room, getting the room done, new carpet installed, installing new things, then move things back in!  Now I can say we have the spare room aka tv room done and the master bedroom will be done as tomorrow (just waiting on new carpet and new closet doors then it is done.)

I will try to get the pictures up soon!!

Hold on!! :)

Hold on!! :)  I will upload single picture for each day. I had someone email - asking for close up of the pictures.  I have to admit - I've been taking my pictures with my cellphone camera... I need to break that habit and start using my camera! :D  However today I DID! :) So I will start off with today's POTD (photo of the day) and work my way back with those photos (with their correct dates in the title: so watch for those) - there will be some days where there are 1-3 photos each day.

I loved the photo - this is the day after the aftermath of the supposedly "blizzard" that we were supposed to get.  We went from 2 inches of ice with 20 inches or more to 1/8 inches of ice, then 2 - 3 inches of sleet then 2 1/2 inches of snow. The kids were quite disappointed! I had told my boys - don't fear!  We probably will have another good storm before we head into Spring.  That seemed to be the pattern for the last 3-4 years.  I loved the messy footprints that the boys and the dogs had left from playing the day prior.
